Ashley, Hubert A. EAST GREENBUSH Hubert A. Ashley, 88, of East Greenbush, died May 4, 2016, at his residence. Hubert was born in Floral Park, Long Island, and had been a resident of the Capital Region for most of his life. Hubert and his wife, Eunice Chestnut Ashley moved to East Greenbush in 1952. He served in the Navy in World War II. He was employed by the Sterling Drug Co. in Rensselaer for 42 years. He retired in 1990. He was a Life member of the East Greenbush Fire Company and was a member of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association and the USS Slater Historical Museum. Predeceased by his wife Eunice; his parents, Clair and Irene Ashley; and sister Claire (Ashley) Guatery. Hubert is survived by a daughter Roslyn (David) Carkhuff; and a son Scott (Crystal) Ashley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
