Wendy (Weston) DeFrancesco , VRHS Class of 1970

Wendy Jean (Weston) DeFrancesco passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024, in Belleview, Fla., at the age of 71, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Born to Edward and Elaine Weston in Rensselaer, N.Y., Wendy was raised alongside her six siblings, Nancy, Edward, Bruce, Diane, Keith, and Paul. She graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1970, where she excelled academically and was an accomplished soprano in the high school's Sweet Sixteen chorus.
After graduation, Wendy began her career at N.Y. Bell Telephone, where she served as the secretary to the CEO. Later in life, she spent many years working for the Rensselaer County Department of Central Services.
Wendy shared an extraordinary 50 years with her beloved husband, Angelo DeFrancesco. Together, they built a life centered on love and family, raising three wonderful children, Angelo (Cara Mia Bruncati) DeFrancesco of Watertown, Mass.; Amanda (Chad) Tromblee of East Greenbush; and Joseph (Amy Moskowitz) DeFrancesco of Niskayuna. She was also blessed with six grandchildren, all of whom adored their vibrant, fun-loving grandma.
A dedicated N.Y. Yankees fan, Wendy also found joy in gardening, couponing, cooking, camping and family game nights, where her lively spirit and playful competitiveness were always on full display. Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering kindness touched all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she enriched.
A celebration of her life will be announced by the family at a future time.
