2018-19 ANNUAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP FUND DRIVE
The Alumni Association of the Rensselaer NY School District wishes you and yours Happy Holidays! Included in this mailing is information on the Alumni Association, a Membership form, and information and a nominating form for the Hall of Fame. We are proudly coming to the close of the seventh year as an organized association. The following summarizes our achievements for 2018:

Electing officers : Lynne Beiermeister ‘69, president; Deborah Irving Reimann ’74, VP; Marianne Heller Brownell ’71, Secretary; Ginny Colvin Lazzaro ’69, Treasurer; Doris Nichols Roberts ’61, Ex-Officio, Denise Roberts Wright ’83 Faculty Advisor, and Thomas Mulyca ’69, Technical Advisor;

Updating and maintaining our data base;
-
Informing members of our activities through The Advertiser, The Troy Record and Times Union, emails, flyers, websites and social media (see below for URLs);

Fund raising through the membership drive, memorial contributions, raffles, bake sales, Hall of Fame dinner, Golf Tournament, seat cushion, T-shirt, mugs and button sales;

Awarding two, $500 Centennial Awards to graduating seniors, a tradition begun by the class of 1948;
-
Renewing the Enrichment Grant to the school district for $1500;
-
Hosting the annual Senior Class Breakfast begun by the class of 1948;
-
Holding group activities e.g.Alumni Day at the Races and marching in the Memorial Day Parade;
-
Inducting 10 new members into the Alumni Hall of Fame at a dinner in April at the Troy Elks;

Collaborating with several city organizations on donating an electronic digital sign for the school and community;
-
Holding our second annual Alumni Golf Tournament in September at Burden Lake Country Club;
-
Donating $100 to the Ashami family fire victims, 4, $25 gift cards to the Firemen’s Fundraiser for the 2nd St. fire victims; $250 to co-sponsor a Kiwanis Concert in the Park; $125 to the 9th grade Team Challenge; $260 for the Jr High’s Science Olympiad; $125 to the Active Parenting Now seminars and $2,250 to the student weekend food backpack program.
To accomplish these goals, we have established some Alumni Association membership levels which are listed on the form on the back of this page. Your membership donation will be used to accomplish the above existing and planned activities. If you are a business owner and wish for your business to be recognized in our publications, please include your business card/information. Membership cards will be issued only to members who are new this year.

General membership meetings are held in the Large Group Instruction (LGI) room in the High School at 6:30pm on the first Tuesday in September-December and March-June. We encourage all to attend.
