Margaret "Peg" A (Jewell) Davidson , VRHS Class of 1954

EAST GREENBUSH - Peg Davidson, (Margaret Ann Jewell), 85, of East Greenbush, passed away Wednesday October 19, 2022, at Wingate Residences in Pittsfield, MA. Peg was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Joe Davidson, who passed in October 2020. Peg, the only child of Peg (Margaret E. Fedigan) and William E. Jewell, was born on March 6, 1937 in Albany, NY. Peg was a graduate of Rensselaer High School, Class of 1954.

Peg is survived by her children,Michael (Kathleen) Davidson, Karen (Jim Dawson) Davidson, Jean-Anne (Richard Lattimer) MacKrell, and Jennifer (David) Showalter; her grandchildren, Benjamin (Rose), Stephanie (Drew), Zachary, Quinn, Aidan, and Alexander; her great-grandchildren, Marlene, Thomas, and Maeve, who meant the world to her. She is also survived by many relatives, nieces, nephews, Godchildren and friends, whom she loved dearly. When Peg's children were young she volunteered many hours at St. Mary's School, eventually becoming the school Secretary and enjoying a longtime friendship with Sister Penny. Prior to retiring Peg also worked a number of years for New York State. After retiring, Peg and Joe spent many hours at their cabin in Ticonderoga, NY. At the Lake Cabin Peg enjoyed hosting her family; the Fedigan's, the Davidson's, the Murphy's and friends, preparing many excellent meals. Peg also enjoyed being a Red Hatter with her dear friend Shirley. Peg was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, Godmother and friend. She will be missed by many.

The family would like to thank Helen Depuy for her loving care and friendship with Peg over the last 2+ years.

Family and friends may call from 4-7pm on Thursday, October 27 at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home at 165 Columbia Turnpike in Rensselaer. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Friday, October 28 at the Catholic Church of St Mary in Clinton Heights. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rensselaer, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Peg's name to the team at Hospice of Western & Central Massachusetts in appreciation of their compassionate care of Peg for more than 2 years.
