Charles "Charlie" Edward Romano , VRHS Class of 1974

RENSSELAER -- Charles E. Romano, 66 of Rensselaer, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Charles was born on May 7, 1955, in Albany, the son of the late Agostino and Frances (Rogers) Romano. Charlie was a doting father, thoughtful friend, unrelenting comedian, and a generous man with a soft spot for animals and those in need. Charlie is survived by his loving daughters, Kelly (Christopher) Flynn, Kimberly (Albert) Arceri, and Brooke Romano; siblings, Michael (Penny) Romano, Frances (Thomas) Nolan, and June Herrington (Steve Calacone); brother-in-law William (Kristin) Brooking Sr.; and goddaughters, Patti (Bob) Tansey and Terri Romano. He was the proud and playful "Poppy" of Emerson and Logan Flynn and Pearl and Liliana Arceri. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters and brother-in-law, Theresa Brooking and Dawn (Lothar) Allert. Family and friends are invited to attend his calling hours from 4 - 6 p.m. on Friday, July 2, and funeral service at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, both at the Wm. J.
