Bellegarde, Joan RENSSELAER Joan Hedrick Bellegarde, age 80, of Rensselaer passed away at Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 13, 2014. She was born in Albany February 22nd, 1934 and has resided in Rensselaer her entire life. Joan was employed for 38 years by the State of New York working as a principal account clerk for the Department of State. Daughter of the late Harry and Helen Benson Hedrick; wife of Gilbert C. Bellegarde of Rensselaer; mother of Lynn (James) Butler and Sherri (Kenneth) Tompkins, both of Rensselaer; grandmother of Kenneth Butler (Katie), Evan Butler (Jess), Carl Tompkins and Jason Tompkins; sister of the late Herbert Hedrick; sister-in-law of Dorothy Hedrick of North Carolina; cousin of Pat Bryan of Syracuse. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Joan Adam, Carol Dana, Anne Trechel, Pat Dewey and Charlotte VanSlyke. Funeral from the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, Rensselaer. Interment in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
