Willard "Bill" G Schauble, Jr , VRHS Class of 1952
TROY -- Willard G. "Bill" Schauble Jr., 87 of Troy, passed away at home on January 14, 2021. Born in Albany and raised in Rensselaer, he was the son of the late Willard G. and Augusta Schauble. Willard was an Army veteran having served during the Korean War and was a former supervisor with the New York Telephone Company. Prior to moving to Troy, he resided on Burden Lake for many years. He was a past president and commissioner of the Averill Park-Sand Lake Fire Company, life member of the Chandler Young VFW Post 8162 in Nassau and member of the Averill Park American Legion Post 1012. Bill enjoyed spending his summers in Lake George where he earned the nickname "walking willie" as people would see him walking to and from his favorite places. He was predeceased by his sister Winifred Redden. Bill is survived by his sons, William P. (Ronda) Schauble and Randall V. (Cassondra) Schauble; grandchildren, Cassondra E. Schauble and Corey R. Schauble. He is also survived by his dear friend Joan Hagy. A graveside service will be held in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 20, at 11:30 a.m. where COVID-19 restrictions of 50 people in attendance will be in place.
