Edward G Adelska , VRHS Class of 1944

Adelska, Edward G. RENSSELAER Edward G. Adelska of Rensselaer, entered into eternal life at Evergreen Commons Nursing Home on August 26, 2022. Born on September 22, 1926, in Albany he was the son of the late Joseph and Katherine Adelska.
He graduated from Van Rensselaer High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge, he began working in the family plumbing business and would eventually become owner and operator of the Adelska Plumbing and Heating Company, where he proudly served the people of City of Rensselaer for many years, he was also the plumbing inspector for the City of Rensselaer.
He was predeceased by his wife, Victoria (Davidson); and brothers, Joseph, and Jack, whom he cared for like no other and was his best friend. He is survived by his daughter, Judianne Mooney; son-in-law, Robert Mooney; grandsons, Adam Anderson (Abbie), and Shayne Mooney (Deanna Helm); and great grandsons, William, Nicholas and soon to be baby Anderson number three.
The family would like to thank the staff from 2 Schodack at the Evergreen Commons, who not only provided outstanding care for him, but also became his second family, and Alexis Diner for the care, support and kindness shown to our father.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer on Thursday, September 1, from 4 - 6 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 2, 10 a.m in St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church, 50 Herrick St., Rensselaer. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Ed's name to the Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center, 22 Corporate Woods Blvd., 5th Floor, Albany, NY, 12211.
